ABSTRACT : To compare ETT cuff pressure changes while using Air OR 2% Lignocaine, OR Normal saline as an inflating agent for endotracheal tube cuff during Laparoscopic surgery.

METHODS : 90 patients belonging to ASA 1 & 2 between the age group of 18 to 60 years of either sex posted for routine laparoscopic surgery under general anaesthesia were selected & distributed in 3 random groups.

RESULTS : ETT cuff pressure changes are higher while using Air as compared to 2% Lignocaine, OR Normal saline as an inflating agent during Laparoscopic surgery.

CONCLUSIONS : 2% Lignocaine OR Normal saline are better ETT inflating agent than air in laproscopic surgery to prevent pressure related tracheal mucosal damage.
