Prospective Randomized Control Study Comparing I Gel With LMA Classic For Ease of Insertion and complications

Objective: To compare I Gel with LMA Classic for ease of insertion and complications Methods: After getting ethical committee approval and patient consent 30 ASA Grade I and II Undergoing elective surgeries were included in the study. In Group A, I Gel was used and in Group B, LMA Classic was used . Group was decided by closed envelope technique. Parameters observed were, Time taken for insertion ( in seconds), Number of attempts for successful insertion, Degree of air leak, Stomach inflation, Incidence of soft tissue trauma, sorethroat and Post op nausea,vomiting

Both groups were compared for any statistical difference in the above said parameters year Postgraduate in M.D., Anaesthesiology, Results: I GEL needs lesser time for insertion, less number of attempts, lesser degree of air leak, lesser incidence of stomach inflation,soft tissue trauma and post of nausea-vomiting . Conclusions: I GEL needs lesser time for insertion, less number of attempts, lesser degree of air leak,
