ABSTRACT : To compare haemodynamics intra operatively, to know time taken for rescue analgesia, to know post op complications

METHODS : 80 Patients Of Asa I And Asa Ii, 40 Of Each Group,By T Test Analysis.

Results : Propofol-Ketamine Group Showed Better Haemodynamic Stability.

Conclusions : Induction Dose Requirements Are Decreased In Propofol-Ketamine Combination Group With Better Haemodynamics And Less Complications. Comparitive study of propofol&propofol with ketamine in ambulatory anaesthesia Himabindu A, Department of anaesthesiology,Siddhartha medical college,Vijayawada,Andhra Pradesh

Background: Various combinations of drugs have been used in total intarvenous anaesthesia.in this study propofol is compared with usage of propofol with ketamine for an ideal technique to provide haemodynamc stability& to decrease post procedural analgesic requirements.induction dose of propofol was less with propofol-ketamine combination.the induction time was shorter in propofol-ketamine group. To conclude propofol-ketamine can be combined to decrease propofolrequirements, decrease chance of apnoea& hypoventilation and provide long lasting postoperative analgesia. Methods: randomized double blinded study conducted in 80 patients of 20-60 years,ASA grade I and II,40 in each group. Systolic,Diastolic Blood pressure and Mean arterial pressure, Pulse rate, Oxygen saturation were measured. Results: Data subjected for T test analysis.Better haemodynamic stability observed in propofol-ketamine group, with decreased induction requirements of propofol. Conclusion: The combination of ketamine andpropofol is more effective and safer than propofol alone in terms of haemodynamic stability and less incidence of complications.
