ABSTRACT : comparing the efficacy of intravenous acetaminophen and intravenous diclofenac for postoperative analgesia

RESULTS : both groups got equianalgesic effect after initial administration. Intravenous diclofenac group is more cost effective than intravenous acetaminophen group. Acetaminophen group has got more pain free period compared to diclofenac group. Amount of rescue analgesia is more with diclofenac group compared to acetaminophen group.

CONCLUSIONS : both are equianalgesic but diclofenac is more cost effective and acetaminophen has lesser pain periods.
