A case of management of 30 week pregnant primigravida patient with parathyroidadenoma for lscs.

ABSTRACT : To report a case of a 30 week pregnant primigravida patient with parathyroid adenoma with generalised osteoporosis and spinal cord round cell tumor with respiratory system and cardiovascular system pathology with bilateral femur fractures for LSCS. Here we discuss anaesthetic management of this patient.

METHODS : : A patient with 30 weeks of pregnancy with inability to move both lower limb was presented to our hospital. Anaesthesia for LSCS was given with fentanyl and propofol. Muscle relaxant was avoided.

RESULTS : After LSCS patient was conscious and better. Patient was operated for parathyroid adenoma after 1 month. She developed respiratory distress after surgery and extubation. She was kept on ventilator for 8 days and died on 8th day.

CONCLUSIONS : : primary hyperparathyroidism is most common cause of parathyroid adenoma. It is rare life threatening condition that can present during pregnancy. Diagnosis is difficult to established. The prognosis of parathyroid adenoma is usually poor.
