Institute : NRI medical college and General Hospital
ABSTRACT : To study effect of magnesium sulphate in attenuating hemodynamic response to pneumoperitonium during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. To study the side effects of the drug if any.
METHODS : Sixty patients, of ASA grade 1 & 2 (18-65 years of age), undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy were randomly allocated in one of the two groups containing 30 patients each. Patients in Group M received magnesium sulfate 50 mg/kg made to 20 ml intravenously as a infusion over 3 mins before pneumoperitonium. Patients in Group C received same volume of 0.9% saline. Systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, mean blood pressure, heart rate were compared at baseline, just before pnumoperitonium,5 mins,15 mins,30mins after pneumoperitonium, after deflating pneumoperitonium, afterextubation.
RESULTS : Study is still under progress. Results will be displayed after statistical analysis at the time of presentation.
CONCLUSIONS : Study is still under progress. Conclusion will be displayed after statistical analysis at the time of presentation.
