The Effects Of Intramuscular Dexmedetomidine Premedication In Perioperative Hemodynamic Parameters ,Anaesthetic Requirements And Post Operative Analgesic Requirements In LaproscopicAppendicectomy

AIM: The aim of our study was to investigate the effect of intramuscular dexmedetomidine premedication in perioperative hemodynamic parameters ,anaesthetic requirements and post operative analgesic requirement.

STUDY DESIGN: Randomized, double blinded, prospective, clinical study

METHODS AND MATERIALS: After getting ethical committee approval, forty patients of aged 20-50 years ASA 1 &II planned for elective laproscopicappendicectomy under GA were included in the study.(total2ml)

GROUP I: received 2mic gm /kg of dexmedetomidine in normal saline
GROUP II: received 2ml of normal saline as placebo
All the forty patients are induced with inj. Fentanyl 2 mic.gm /kg, inj.thiopentone 2.5% 7mg/kg, inj. Atracurium 0.5mg/kg, maintainance with N2O, O2 after intubation and 1, 5, 10, 20 minutes after extubation .

RESULTS: Results will be discussed at the time of presentation.
