Anaesthetic Complications Associated With Cardiac Anaesthesia During Valve Replacement Surgeries: A Retrospective Analytical Study.
Institute: Meenakshi Medical college
BACKROUND: Aim of the study is to focus on reducing post-procedural morbidities that may seriously impact the patient. Anaesthesiologists play a crucial role in the reduction, recognition, and timely treatment of surigal errors that impact morbidity and morbidity .Valvular heart diseases with mild PAH has low incidence of mortality and morbidity . But patients with high morbidities such as restricted mouth opening less than one finger ,atrial dilatation, critical mitral valve area , severe hypothyroid cases, arrthymias ,severe PAH have have very <0.6cm2 high rate of mortalities .
Methods: In five patients who have undergone valve replacement surgeries, intra-op and post-op complications were analysed . changes in hemodynamics , difficulties handled and oucome of the surgery ,mortality and morbity were analysed
Discussion: Sicker the patient poorer the outcome.Arrthymia produces mortality during intraoperative periods. Patients with critical mitral stenosis are of at increased risk compared to patients with mild and moderate valve areas. Retrospectively analysing the pros and cons of cardiac anesthesia in valve replacement surgeries and its effect on the outcome.
